How Absence Codes Affect Your FlexBalance
The L, HL, S, HS, Cr and HCr Absence Codes
The L, HL, S, HS, Cr and HCr Absence Codes
The L
, S
and Cr
absence codes credit you with your full standard working hours for the day. This means:
- you must not enter any start/end times for the day, and
- your FlexBalance is not altered.
The HL
, HS
and HCr
absence codes credit you with half of your standard working hours for the day and use your start/end times and +ve/-ve adjustments to calculate your work hours. This means:
- you should enter the start/end times for one working session for the other codes because they each cover only half the day, and
- your FlexBalance is not altered by the half of the day covered by the absence code, but will be by however much over/under you work for the other half of the day.
The Flx and HFlx Absence Codes
The Flx and HFlx Absence Codes
The Flx
and HFlx
absence codes do not credit you with any of your standard hours for the day. This is so the time off is “paid for” from your FlexBalance. This means:
- with the
Flx
code you must not enter any start/end times for the day, but - with the
HFlx
code you should enter the start/end times for one working session.
The HFHL Absence Code
The HFHL Absence Code
The half-and-half HFHL
absence code credits you with half of your standard working hours for the day (for the “HL” part). This means:
- you must not enter any start/end times for the day because the code covers the full day, and
- your FlexBalance will be debited to “pay for” the half day off that was flex.
The – and Lieu Absence Codes
The – and Lieu Absence Codes
The -
and Lieu
codes do not credit you with any of your standard hours. This means:
- for the - code your FlexBalance will be adjusted by the amount of time over/under you work based on your start/end times along with any +ve/-ve adjustments;
- for the
Lieu
code your FlexBalance will be debited by your standard hours. (Don't worry! This is correct because you will have been credited with flex for the full hours you worked on the other, usually Non-Working, day.)
